Iraq, Italy Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Parliamentary Cooperation

Baghdad, Sunday, October 25- (NINA) – Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Farhad Amin Atrushi met with Italian Ambassador to Iraq Niccolò Fontana on Sunday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance parliamentary, economic and development cooperation between the two friendly countries.

According to a statement from Atrushi’s office, the meeting addressed several issues of mutual interest and reviewed the latest political developments in Iraq.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of continuing dialogue and reaching understandings between Baghdad and Erbil, as well as the Kurdistan Region’s financial entitlements under the federal budget. The two sides also exchanged views on current developments and ongoing events across the region.

For his part, the Italian ambassador reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continuing its support for Iraq and assisting the country in consolidating stability and achieving comprehensive development across various sectors./End
