Rain-bearing cumulonimbus clouds produced repeated bolts that illuminated the sky at short intervals, while thunder echoed across parts of the area. The dramatic display reflected the varied conditions currently affecting the Sarawat Mountains in Al-Baha.
Locals and tourists enjoyed the spectacle, with many taking photos and videos of the natural phenomenon.
The Saudi Press Agency camera captured the striking views, bringing together the city's lights, lightning, and mist.
