151 Researchers from King Saud University’s College of Science Named Among World’s Top 2% Scientists

Riyadh, October 28, 2026, SPA -- King Saud University’s College of Science has had 151 faculty members and researchers included in the 2026 list of the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists, up nearly 36% from 2025.
The ninth edition uses a methodology developed by Stanford University Professor John P.A. Ioannidis, drawing on Scopus data as of August 1, 2026. It assesses career-long research impact through the end of 2025 and citations received during that year.
The assessment uses citation indicators, including the h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, and composite citation indicator (c-score), emphasizing research impact rather than publication counts alone. It covers 20 scientific fields and 174 subfields under the Science-Metrix classification.
The achievement reflects the college’s efforts to strengthen research quality and international impact, supporting the university’s ambitions for global leadership in research and innovation in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
