Islamic Affairs Ministry Honors 15 Winners in Bangladesh Quran Competition

Dhaka, October 28, 2026, SPA -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has concluded its "Tarteel wa Irtqaa" Quran memorization competition in Bangladesh, honoring 15 winners after more than a month of competition that drew around 5,000 participants from across the country.
The competition was organized by the ministry's religious attaché at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Bangladesh. Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah bin Zafer Abiyah attended the closing ceremony, along with government officials, diplomats, judges, and embassy staff.
Participants from nine regions covering 28 districts across Bangladesh competed in three categories: memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of half the Quran, and a category for girls requiring memorization of 15 parts of the Quran.
The competition progressed through several qualifying rounds, with 420 participants advancing from the preliminary round and 135 qualifying for the semifinals. The final round produced 15 male and female winners, who were honored at the closing ceremony.
The competition is part of the ministry's Quranic programs and initiatives abroad, reflecting Saudi Arabia's efforts to support the Quran and those who memorize it, promote international Quran competitions, and serve Islam and Muslims around the world.
