China’s Linyi Trade City To Ease Supply Chain Access For Malaysian Businesses

LINYI (Shandong) Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Malaysian businesses will now have more efficient access to supply chains in China following Linyi Trade City Group's move to introduce the Market Procurement + Global Partners Initiative, backed by the integration of logistics, customs and financial services under a unified service platform.
Speaking to Bernama, Linyi Trade City Group chairman Sun Siyong said the initiative was designed to better connect overseas market demand with local product suppliers, extending the city's international trade services beyond standard purchasing transactions.
"Linyi Trade City is actively working to integrate policy support with trade-related services to make sourcing from China more convenient for overseas buyers.
"To support this seamless trade experience, the IMC Linyi International Market Centre is developing a comprehensive service platform covering government affairs, commercial services and trade operations," he said.
Elaborating further, Sun explained that by coordinating resources across customs clearance, taxation, foreign exchange, financial services, logistics, legal consultancy and certification, the platform aims to significantly reduce the time and effort businesses spend managing cross-border transactions.
"Under China's market procurement trade pilot programme, eligible Malaysian businesses can now access a specialised trade mechanism that facilitates exports involving multiple product categories and smaller procurement volumes," he said.
Beyond digital and policy integration, he said the group had established physical overseas warehouses and offices in Malaysia to strengthen communication with local businesses, gather market intelligence and foster closer commercial ties.
"Malaysian businesses can also explore opportunities to establish their own offices, product exhibition centres or procurement hubs in Linyi to strengthen direct links with industrial resources," he said.
As one of China's major wholesale distribution hubs, Linyi offers a vast range of products across sectors including building materials, hardware, machinery, home furnishings and daily consumer goods, Sun said.
Addressing the crucial aspect of supply chain transparency, Sun emphasised that Linyi Trade City had strengthened the management of market traders and merchandise through rigorous business registration, product information filing and meticulous purchase documentation.
"The group is collaborating with market regulation and customs authorities on product sampling inspections, risk monitoring and trader credit assessments," he said.
For the Malaysian market specifically, Sun said the group was coordinating with certification and compliance service providers to help Chinese exporters navigate Malaysia's strict import regulations, particularly those relating to Halal certification.
"For segments like poultry production, stringent Halal compliance controls are enforced throughout the entire production chain, from feed sourcing and farm management to slaughtering and processing, to strengthen market confidence in Malaysia," he said.
Looking ahead, Sun said Linyi Trade City's continued international expansion, supported by an integrated approach combining market procurement, overseas exhibitions and brand internationalisation, was expected to provide Malaysian buyers with more consistent and reliable access to China's vast supply chains.
This strategic expansion aligns with increasingly robust economic cooperation between the two nations. Recent statistics show that bilateral trade between Malaysia and China surged by 35.1 per cent year-on-year to RM456.68 billion (US$1=RM4.05) from January to August 2026, highlighting China's enduring position as a vital trading partner and growing demand for seamless cross-border supply chain solutions.
