Malaysians In Yemen Advised To Prepare To Leave Amid Escalating Tensions

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) – Malaysians remaining in Yemen have been advised to make immediate preparations to leave the country voluntarily while commercial flights are still available, amid escalating tensions and ongoing armed conflict in several parts of the country.

In a notice posted on Facebook, the Malaysian Embassy in Muscat, Oman, said it was closely monitoring security developments in Yemen and urged Malaysians to prioritise their personal safety in view of the unpredictable security situation.

“Malaysians are advised to plan their departure carefully, ensuring that their travel routes are safe, transport is available and all necessary travel documents are in order, and to check the status of their flights,” the embassy said.

The embassy also advised Malaysians to remain vigilant, avoid conflict areas, stay informed of security developments and follow instructions from local authorities.

It further urged Malaysians to postpone all travel to Yemen until the security situation stabilises.

Malaysians remaining in Yemen who have yet to register with the embassy were urged to do so through the e-Konsular portal at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my and to download the MyWorldAlert application.

The embassy said further updates and important information would be shared through its official communication channels.

For enquiries or consular assistance, Malaysians may contact the embassy's emergency hotline at +968 7159 2388 or email mwmuscat@kln.gov.my.
