AACO Chairman Condemns Attacks on Airports in the Region

Doha, November 03, 2026, SPA -- Chairman of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Arab Air Carriers' Organization (AACO) Hamad Ali Al Khater condemned the attacks targeting airports and civil aircraft in the region, which resulted in casualties, damage, and disruptions to air transport operations. He stressed that protecting airports, civil aircraft, passengers, and aviation personnel is a collective responsibility that allows no selectivity or double standards.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the AACO, Al Khater said the organization's 59th meeting in Doha follows a period when regional circumstances posed significant challenges to airline operations and air traffic management. He emphasized the importance of Arab cooperation and integration to ensure operational continuity.
He said: "The past period has clearly demonstrated the importance of joint action among Arab airlines, which took the initiative to coordinate, exchange support, and work together to develop practical solutions that would help them navigate these exceptional circumstances and maintain their operations to the greatest extent possible."
He noted that these solidarity efforts among air carriers were complemented by the facilitation measures provided by the relevant authorities in countries across the region, directly contributing to supporting airline operations and maintaining the smooth flow of air traffic despite security and operational complexities.
Al Khater affirmed that protecting civil aviation infrastructure is a collective responsibility of the entire international community and must not be approached with double standards or selectivity, regardless of the reasons or justifications.
