Production of Efficacious Traditional Medicines in DPRK

 Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Koryo medicine production units in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK are pushing ahead with production while directing efforts to modernizing equipment.
The Hyesan Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory and the Kapsan County Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory are remodeling old equipment and perfecting production processes by relying on their own technical forces, thus increasing the variety of efficacious traditional medicines and their output.
Koryo medicine production units in Kim Hyong Jik and Paegam counties increased the production of medicines as compared with the same period of last year by using medicinal herb resources such as Astragalus membranaceus and fruit of Schizandra chinensis.
Those in Kim Jong Suk County and Samjiyon City are producing various kinds of medicines with high curative value while solving sci-tech problems arising in mixing ratio of raw materials and improving quality of products.
The Ryanggang Provincial Hospital of Koryo Medicine expands the variety and output of tradtional medicines and sends them to several pharmacies in time.
The pickers of medicinal herbs in Taehongdan and Samsu counties have over-fulfilled their plans for picking and purchasing medicinal herbs to contribute to boosting the production of medicines. -0-
