Many Senior Middle Schools Honoured with Title of Socialist Patriotic Forest in DPRK

 Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- More than 100 senior middle schools in the DPRK were awarded the Title of Socialist Patriotic Forest this year.
Schools in North Hwanghae Province have planted trees of good species and high economic value, including pine-nut trees and larches, in their Children's Union forests. Saplings are being cultivated at their own tree nurseries.
Changsong Senior Middle School in Changsong County, Ryongnam Technical Senior Middle School in Onsong County and other schools focused on taking care of the planted trees to increase the rate of their rooting.
Munyong Senior Middle School in Samsok District and Ryongbong Senior Middle School in Phyonggang County displayed afforestation-related visual aids in their compounds, thus planting and protecting trees in close combination with educational practice.
Students' sincerity for greening the country is also reflected in the firebreaks and water-collecting sites built by the Children's Union members at Ripha Technical Senior Middle School in Tanchon City and Phyongwon Technical Senior Middle School in Yodok County.
The Children's Union organizations at Uppha Technical Senior Middle School in Haeju City and Paechon Mining Technical Senior Middle School in Paechon County dedicate themselves to turning the mountains in their regions into more useful ones.
Schools in Kangso District of Nampho Municipality set up harmful insect monitoring posts in their Children's Union forests to prevent damage caused by harmful insects. -0-
