National Show and Presentation in Fruit Farming Sector

 Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- A national show and presentation in the fruit farming sector took place at the Sci-Tech Complex here from November 3 to 6 under the sponsorship of the Korean Pomiculture Association of the C.C., General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
Attending the show and presentation on the theme of "Scientific, intensified, modernized and IT-based fruit production" were officials, scientists and technicians of more than 80 units including the Institute of Pomiculture of the Academy of Agricultural Science, the Kosan Combined Fruit Farm and the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm.
Presented there were more than 250 exhibits of 60-odd kinds including high-yielding fruits and agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, equipment and appliances for fruit production and more than 170 proposals.
During the period there were lectures on scientific and technological issues arising in breeding and cultivating high-yielding fruits and improving their taste and increasing their productivity.
The proposal for introducing the fruit sapling production system at the arch-style greenhouse and the method of exterminating harmful insects with various kinds of agricultural chemicals and experience gained in their use were appreciated for their practical significance in reality. -0-
