Saudi Arabia supports developmental and humanitarian projects
Khartoum, July 21, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sudan
signed an agreement here today according to which Saudi Arabia
supports developmental and humanitarian projects amounting to SR70
million in Darfur.
Fayez Al-Ahmadi, Deputy President of the Saudi Red Crescent signed
for his country while Hassabu Mohammed Abdulrahman, General
Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, signed for Sudan.
In a press conference, Al-Ahmadi said the money will be used to
establish 21 water stations, 21 health units, and operate nine others
in Darfur in addition to emergency food support.
For his part, the Sudanese official lauded the Saudi gesture, noting
that it was obvious to receive such considerable support from the
Kingdom of Humanity, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
