PHILIPS LAUNCHES WORLD'S FIRST CINEMA PROPORTION LCD TV

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Philips on Tuesday launched the much
anticipated world's first cinema proportion LCD TV (liquid crystal display
television).

The Cinema 21:9 measuring 56 inches redefines the cinematic viewing
experience at home, said Philips Malaysia general manager for Consumer Lifestyle
Eddie Ong.

He said the LCD TV comes with unique Philips technology such as Ambilight,
LED (Light-Emitting-Diode) back-lit panels and Pixel Precise high definition
engine so as to integrate and enhance the way consumers live and play.

"The new Cinema 21:9 TV, the Ambilight LED Lux TV, and Blue-Ray Soundbar
home theatre with Ambisound technology are key elements of our consumer
lifestlye proposition for 2009," he said at the product launch.

He said the cinema 21:9 also comes with Net TV which enables simple and
quick Internet access to a wide range of sites from a start page on the TV
screen.

Cinema 21:9 is available at selected electronics retail outlets and retails
at RM20,000.
