Samsung Electro-Mechanics Q2 profit rises 9-fold
SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co., a South Korean electronics parts maker, said Thursday its second-quarter earnings rose nearly nine-fold from a year earlier on high demand for mobile handset and TV components.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics earned 76.6 billion won (US$61.2 million) in the three
months ended June 30, up 791 percent from 8.6 billion won a year earlier, the
company said in a regulatory filing.
Sales rose 27 percent on-year to 1.32 trillion won in the April-June period, with
operating profit rising more than five times to 128.9 billion won, it said.
