Hyosung's net more than doubles in Q2

SEOUL, July 24 (Yonhap) -- Hyosung Corp., a South Korean maker of textiles and
heavy machinery, said Friday that its second-quarter net profit more than doubled
from a year earlier on brisk sales in the heavy machinery and textile sectors.

Net income reached 113 billion won (US$90.4 million) in the three months to June,
compared with 55.5 billion won a year ago, Hyosung said in a regulatory filing.
Revenue inched down 0.7 percent year-on-year to 1.74 trillion won, while
operating profit rose 22.7 percent to 146 billion won.
Hyosung shares finished up 2.58 percent to 83,600 won on the Seoul bourse.
