RIAU POLICE ARREST MALAYSIAN DRUG DEALER

Pekanbaru, Riau, July 25 (ANTARA) - Police in Rokan Hilir, Riau, have arrested a Malaysian national known as Ng Chee alias Asen (22) for allegedly being a drug dealer operating in the province.

Rokan Hilir police chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Rochmad Nursaid told ANTARA here on Friday the arrest was done on Tuesday.

He said the police confiscated a machine for producing ecstasy pills from his house on Jalan Perniagaan.

The police have also confiscated various kinds of illegal drugs as evidence worth millions of rupiahs following a re-search on Friday, he said.

"The suspect has actually been our target for a long time," he said.

He said the police in the search at his house on Friday discovered among others 30 ecstasy pills and a quantity of crystal metamphetamine contained in 18 medium-sized and small packets.

"The evidence is worth hundreds of millions of rupiahs," he said.

He said the police arrested Asen, a Malaysian national from Pulau Ketam, on July 21 at his house and also another suspect known as Ana alias Evi (20).

The police arrested them while they were just enjoying drugs. "The suspects are believed to have been operating as drug dealers in Riau for quite some time," he said.
