SINGAPORE REPORTS FIFTH H1N1 FLU-RELATED DEATH

SINGAPORE, July 28 (Bernama) - Singapore Monday reported another case of
Influenza A (H1N1) related death when a Chinese woman died at the Singapore
General Hospital (SGH) here this morning.

The flu-related death toll in the city-state now stands at five since the
first death was reported two weeks ago.

The Health Ministry said the 34-year old woman who had acute myeloid
leukaemia died from pneumonia with Influenza A (H1N1) infection as a
contributing factor.

In its latest update on the flu, the ministry said the woman was admitted to
SGH on July 17 after two days of cough and transferred to the Intensive Care
Unit two days later because of low oxygen saturation.

Last Friday, a 42-year old Chinese woman died due to similar causes.
