Marine forces thwart piracy attempt on Yemeni oil tanker

SANA'A, July 28 (Saba) -
After clashing with Somali pirates in Aden Gulf, Yemeni marine frustrated on Tuesday
a piracy
attack on a Yemeni oil tanker.

A military source told the military-run 26sep.net that two boats of Somali pirates
in Bab Al-Mandab area, Taiz province, tried on Tuesday to attack a Yemeni oil
tanker was
on its way from Hodeidah port heading to Aden port.
The source affirmed that the marine forces faced the pirates' boats shooting them
intensively and enforced them to escape, while the tanker continued to its
destination
with its crew unharmed.
The boats of marine forces are currently combing the area of the attack in the Red
Sea in addition to steering patrols to track and capture the pirates, the source
added.
On the same context, the marine forces managed Tuesday morning to release a Yemeni
fish boat with some Yemeni fishermen on board, held by pirates two days ago.
