Lao National Judo Federation to hold Southeast Asian Judo Championship

(KPL) The Lao National Judo Federation in cooperation with the National Sport-Gymnastic Committee is preparing to organize the South East Asian Judo Championship from 6 to 7 August, in Vientiane at the Lao ITECC.
This event is aiming at testing the skills and techniques of the Lao national team and referees before the 25th South East Asian Games 2009, to be held in Vientiane from 9-18 December.
The President of Lao National Judo Federation Mr Khemsard Phiraphandeth said at a press conference on Monday that 116 athletes from nine ASEAN Countries will be fight for 16 gold medals.
This event will consist of women 45-48-52-57-63-70-78+78kg categories while the men will compete in 55-60-66-73-81-90-100+100kg categories.
For the Lao national fighters are including Viengvilay Chansy, Chindavong Sivanvilay, Mayuly Phanouvong and Phonvanh Si-Amphone who ever bagged the medals from the 24th SEA Games 2007 in Thailand will join this championship.
