FOREIGN MINISTRY TO HOLD PR PROGRAMME IN SABAH
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- The Foreign Ministry will be organising a
public relations programme in East Malaysia state of Sabah involving its capital
Kota Kinabalu and Membakut town from Aug 7 to 9.
In a statement here Saturday, the ministry said the programme was aimed at
creating greater awareness among Malaysians on the role of the ministry (Wisma
Putra) played in regard to the nation's international relations and foreign
policy matters.
It said this was in line with the government's efforts to ensure Malaysians
from throughout the country understood the government's actions in foreign
affairs.
Open interviews would also be held to recruit young Malaysians with
potential to take up careers with the ministry besides introducing the services
it provided, the statement added.
Career talks and the open interview will be held at Bilek Koleksi Perdana,
Bangunan Perpustakaan, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Kota Kinabalu at
2.30pm on Aug 7.
"Meet-the-customers" sessions will also be held at the Foyer of UMS' library
on Aug 7 and Centre Point Kota Kinabalu on Aug 7 and 8. The time is from 10am
till 5pm.
Foreign Minister Anifah Aman is scheduled to make an address and launch the
programme on Aug 7.
A lecture on Malaysia's foreign policy and career talks will also be held on
Aug 8.
An open interview to recruit officers for the ministry will be held on the
same day.
