Laos gives two young elephants to North Korea

(KPL) The Lao government gave two young elephants to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two elephants were handed over by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Phongsavath Boupha to Ambassador of DPRK to Laos, Mr. Pak Myong Gu in Vientiane on 30 July.
The two four-year old elephants, Khammoun (male) and Bounnang (female) come from Thongmixay district, Sayaboury province.
The gift symbolizes friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
