NATIONAL CLASSICAL ARTISTES BRING DIGNITY TO COUNTRY'S CULTURE

KUANTAN (Malaysia), Aug 2 (Bernama) -- The National Classical Artistes
Competition has succeeded in dignifying the country's culture by involving
Malaysians in totality, said Minister of Information Communication and Cultur Dr
Rais Yatim.

He said the competition held since three years ago not only raised a young
generation that continued the national arts values but also united the people.

"The competition this year saw the quality of the art rise and the reception
from the people has grown a lot," he told reporters here Sunday.

The Ruler of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah watched the finals of the competiton.

Rais said the programme would be enhanced next year especially from the
aspect of rewards for the winners and also from the aspect of judging.
