Police hikes reward on two Indian Mujahideen terrorists
New Delhi, Aug 3 (PTI) India's national capital, Delhi
Police Monday increased the reward on two alleged Indian
Mujahideen terrorists, who are said to be instrumental in the
serial blasts here in September last year, to Rs five lakh
from Rs one lakh.
City police commissioner Y S Dadwal announced the
increase of reward on Ariz Khan (23) and Shahzad Ahmad
(21), both hailing from Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh district, a
senior police official said.
The duo, allegedly instrumental in the serial blasts
had escaped from Batla House on September 19 during an
encounter with police, are absconding since then.
With this, six alleged terrorists involved in the
serial blasts carry a reward of Rs five lakh each.
The city police had on July three announced a cash
reward of Rs five lakh for the arrest of four terrorists,
including Abu Alkama of LeT, allegedly involved in the serial
blasts which claimed 26 lives.
The Rs five lakh reward on Alkama, the alleged
mastrmind of the IM, which carried out serial blasts across
the country, was announced as he was eluding police.
The reward on three others IM members -- Iqbal Batkal,
Riyaz Batkal and Amir Raza Khan, the chief of the outfit --
was enhanced from Rs one lakh to Rs five lakh.
Dadwal had earlier announced a reward of Rs one lakh
on the 13 terrorists. PTI SJY
