About 5000 ancient gold coins, 182 manuscripts obtained
SANA'A, Aug. 04 (Saba) -
Heritage and Cultural Development Fund has said that the fund has obtained 4963
ancient gold
coins in addition to 35 archaeological pieces and more than 182 manuscripts during
the first half of 2009, the state-run 26 Sept.net has reported.
The fund executive director Ahmed Amer made clear that the archaeological
collections, which are of different ages, were in their way to be smuggled or
stolen in the black
market.
He added, the Fund is working on the inventory and a documentation project of the
manuscripts in Sana'a to be financed with more than YR 38 million.
The fund's humanitarian and social contribution include the cost of treatment for
many authors, artists and intellectuals as well as encouraging artistic talented
and creative
people which will contribute to developing the cultural and arts movement, Amer said.
