Bingguo and Narayanan to meet; discuss bilateral concerns

New Delhi, Aug 4 (PTI) Border issues and other
important bilateral subjects will figure prominently during
the meeting between National Security Adviser of India M K
Narayanan and Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo who is
arriving here on Thursday.

Bingguo and Narayanan will meet on August 7 and 8 to
hold the 13th round of the boundary talks, sources said
adding that during the meetings other important regional
issues such as trade and combating terrorism are also expected
to figure.

The sources have been maintaining that the two sides
still have to cross many hurdles before a final settlement of
the boundary issue is reached in accordance with guiding
principles and political parameters decided in 2005.

"Bingguo, State Councilor of China, and Narayanan will
attend the meeting and exchange views on the development of
the Sino-Indian Strategic and Cooperative Partnership as well
as international and regional issues of common interest,"
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang said in Beijing.
