Astana removed quarantine on А/H1N1 flu

Astana, August 05, 2009 (Khabar) - Quarantine regime on А/H1N1 flu is removed in Astana and Schuchinsk on August 4. Almaty is to be declared about it on August 5. Aitmagambet Zholsharinov, head of department of epidemiological control has said it during briefing in the capital of country. Currently one person is being treated from this type of flu in Almaty. Students and teachers of International college of uninterrupted education were examined by doctors for one week because ill people were revealed just in group of this college, they returned from UK. Medical men also observed 119 people who contacted with ill persons. In general, 15 confirmed cases of pandemic flu were revealed in the republic since July 23. Anti-epidemic actions are continued despite quarantine is removed and much attention is paid to citizens who return from abroad.

Zhandarbek Bekshin, director of department of Committee of state sanitation and epidemiologic supervision under Ministry of Healthcare of RK:
- The result of our work is absence of infected people among those who had contacts with ill persons in our city.

The doctors recommend Kazakhstani citizens not to visit foreign countries and not to perform hajj this year. Aitmagambet Zholsharinov says WHO released this recommendation as about 185 000 cases of А/H1N1 flu are registered in the world.
