Air Force pilot gloves to be custom-made using 3D technology

SEOUL, Aug. 6 (Yonhap) -- The Air Force said Thursday its pilots will start next
year wearing flight gloves tailor-made through the use of three-dimensional
computer scanning.
The leather gloves will be tailored to precisely fit the hands of each pilot, the
Air Force said. A local technology group has offered to scan the hands and use
three-dimensional data to make the gloves.
"We hope the gloves will give the pilots better control of their planes when
they're in the air," the Air Force said in a statement, adding the gloves will be
provided starting January next year.
Only eight different sizes are currently available.
