Youth is for healthy way of life

Pavlodar, August 16 2009, Khabar - Leaders of youth organizations in Pavlodar region say restriction for beer drinking is not only case of the state about future generation but also striving of young people for civilized life standards. Local activists of non-governmental organizations consider the law toughening is their victory. Amendments to the Administrative Code went into force on August 2 and they prohibit beer drinking in all public places, such as parks and squares, bus stop, beaches, yards and stadiums. Policemen warn so far and in future punishment will be stricter.

Maksat Bekbosynov, deputy head of department of interior affairs of Pavlodar:
- The administrative fine is imposed, one monthly calculated index. For the second violation is 5 monthly calculated indexes and person will be arrested for 15 days for the third time.

“Youth for healthy way of life” movement held anonymous questioning and were terrified with 50% of Pavlodar’s young people regularly drinking beer. Even schoolchildren are acquainted with taste of this drink. The city residents sent hundreds of letters and addresses to the Parliament, ministries, municipal governments and different agencies demanding to change the situation.

Oleg Yusupov, doctor-expert in sphere of social problems of dependent diseases:
- You should understand any drinking of alcohol is intoxication and intoxication envenoms the organism.

Pavlodra’s center of medical and social problems of drugs addiction search for new methods of alcoholism fighting. History of patient Vika repeats the history of many other patients: merry company and week-end, much beer. And psychological and physical addiction as a result, frequent absences and quarrels in the family. She says she comprehended she would loose everything in 5-10 years. And that’s why she decided to undergo treatment from beer addiction.
Currently hundreds of teenagers study at the center and the state spends millions tenge to return health to one patient.

- We don’t want to stop and we will advance. Now we want to rise the issue on tobacco smoking.
