Wedding boom

Pavlodar, August 18, 2009 (Khabar) - A record number of marriages has been registered in the Pavlodar region over the past weekend. Over 219 couples united in wedlock. Recently, all the civil registry offices of the country have switched to the computer-aided record keeping system. The new program eased the procedure considerably.

Lyudmila Suleimenova, leading specialists, Pavlodar Civil Registry Office:
- Previously, people had to wait in lines. Today, people can come and we can give out marriage certificates and congratulate them already in 5-7 minutes.

Officials of the local registry office noted the positive dynamics. The birth rate is growing alongside the number of marriages. More than 7,500 little Pavlodar residents were born since the beginning of the year in the region.

Yuliya Vlasova:
- I made my contribution to the development of the demographic history of Kazakhstan. I gave birth to my son.

Christian came to Kazakhstan from Berlin on the exchange program. And now the country has become closer to him.

Christian Julmi:
- I heard a lot about Kazakhstan having the most beautiful girls and I’m very happy that I’ve found my love here in particular. I want to be with my beloved one forever.

119 were celebrated over the past weekend in the region. 1,748 new families have been born in the Priirtyshie since the beginning of the year.
