GOVT AWAITING NEWS FROM CHINA ON JB-GEMAS RAIL TRACK PROJECT
JOHOR BAHARU (Malaysia), Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The government is still waiting
for feedback from the Chinese government on the Johor Baharu-Gemas dual railway
track project worth RM7.5 billion (US$2.1 billion), Transport Minister Ong Tee
Keat said.
Prime Minister Najib Razak during his visit to China in June had said that
the government was considering giving the dual rail track project to a China
company.
"It is up to the Chinese government to announce which company has been given
the responsibility (to build the rail track). The Chinese government has yet to
respond," Ong said.
