“Champa” becomes Lao SEA Games logo

(KPL) The Organising Committee for the 25th SEA Games of the Lao PDR approved “Champa” frangipani - the national flower, as the symbol of the 25th SEA Games, on 17 August.
A licence of distributing artificial Champa flower based on an agreement of the National Institute of Social Science, was granted to the Champa Lao Handicraft Production Group, as an agent.
The main objective is to make known that Champa is the symbolic flower of Laos - a unique nation, and the artificial flower will given as a gift and souvenirs for athletes, domestic and foreign guests to the Games.
It is also a promotion of Lao handicrafts, made by the Champa Lao Handicraft Production Group, located at Tanmisay village, Saythany district, Vientiane Capital.
At present, the vases of artificial Champa flowers are already available for sale.A part of proceeds from the distribution of Champa flowers will go to the 25th SEA Games Fund.
The agreement for distributing artificial flowers was signed on 17 August at the Lao National Sports Committee, between the Deputy Head of the Sub-Committee for Marketing and Copyright Chanpheng Silattana, and Head of the Champa Lao Handicraft Production Group Bouapha Phanthavong.
