EXERCISE ENHANCES MILITARY PROFESSIONALISM
KOTA BAHARU (Malaysia), Aug 19 (Bernama) -- The military cooperation involving Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia in the 2009 Suman Warrior Exercise can enhance professionalism within an army.
Malaysian Army Field Commander Lt Gen Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor
said the exercise could also strengthen the existing cooperation of the five
nations.
"Through this programme, we could enhance the level of profesionalism
through the exchange of experiences and knowledge, besides fostering closer
rapport amongst the nations to ensure peace in this region," he told reporters
after closing the 2009 Suman Warrior Exercise here, an east coast city which is
the capital of northeast state of Kelantan Wednesday.
The 10-day exercise under the Five Power Defence Arrangement involved 380
members from the five nations.
Each nation sent a team comprising 65 officers and rank-and-file headed by a
lieutenant-colonel.
