Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques chairs Cabinet's weekly meeting 2 Jeddah
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the meeting, Dr.
Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information,
said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the cabinet on the
talks, consultations and contacts which took place over the last days
with some leaders of world countries and their envoys on different
incidents and political and economic developments in the region and
the world at large.
The Minister of Culture and Information said the Cabinet expressed
appreciation of the monarch's interest in education in general and
higher education in particular, citing the King's approval for the
establishment of four new universities in each of Dammam, Al-Kharj,
Shaqra and Al-Majmaa to serve as tributaries flowing into their
counterparts in other parts of the Kingdom and contributing to the
creation of ideal qualified generations to continue building the
nation and pushing it in the path of progress and prosperity.
He added that the Cabinet also listened, under the instruction of
the King, to a briefing by Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second
Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, on the restoration of
calmness at Al-Eis center, a site of tremors and aftershocks over
the past weeks, and the return of its residents to their homes
following strenuous efforts by relevant sectors to provide necessary
assistance for the returnees and secure their safety and security
whereas the concerned authorities underscored the commitment of the
returnees to cooperate with them in not visiting dangerous
quake-stricken areas including collapsing houses.
