S. Korea, Argentina to sign judicial cooperation pact
SEOUL, Aug. 27 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and Argentina will sign a treaty on
judicial cooperation next week when their top diplomats meet in Seoul, officials
here said Thursday.
"Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana plans to make an official trip to South
Korea from Aug. 31-Sept. 1," South Korean foreign ministry spokesman Moon
Tae-young said.
He is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan on Monday to
discuss ways to promote ties between the two sides and exchange views on the
geopolitical situation in their regions, added Moon.
"After the talks, the ministers plan to sign the Treaty on Mutual Legal
Assistance in Criminal Affairs," Moon said.
Taiana will also pay a courtesy call on National Assembly Speaker Kim Hyong-o.
The two countries established ties in 1962, and some 25,000 Koreans currently
reside in Argentina.
