EU TO PROMOTE RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN M`SIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- European Commission, the executive arm of
the European Union (EU), is proposing cooperation in research and technological
development to Malaysia.
Moving towards this direction, the commission and the Ministry of Science,
Technology and Innovation will jointly organise an information seminar on Sept
11 for Malaysian scientists and researchers.
Ambassador and Head of delegation of the European Commission to Malaysia,
Vincent Piket said the commission would promote cooperation with local research
institutes, universities, researchers.
It will also do the same with companies working in research and development
in EU's research programme.
"This proposal is opened to countries outside the EU, including Malaysia.
The objective of this cooperation is to provide funding for joint cooperation
between Malaysian and EU institutions", he said in a statement Friday.
The area of cooperation will cover health, energy, transport, food,
agriculture and fisheries, biotechnology, security and science in society.
