NINE KILLED IN BOAT ACCIDENT
Jakarta, Aug 29 (ANTARA) - Nine passengers were killed when KM Sari Mulia motorboat sank in Negara waters, Batalas village, Candi Laras Utara sub-district, Tapin district, South Kalimantan, a military spokesman said.
"The latest information we received mentioned that nine people were killed," Navy Spokesman Commodore Iskandar Sitompul said when contacted by ANTARA.
He said that 114 passenger survived the accident while 12 others were still missing.
Iskandar said that rescuers predicted the 12 missing passengers were trapped in the body of the sinking boat. "Search for passengers will be continued on Sunday," he said.***
