UAE'S NATIONAL AIR CARRIER TO INCREASE NUMBER OF ISTANBUL-ABU DHABI FLIGHTS


ISTANBUL (A.A) - 31.08.2009 - Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will increase the number of Istanbul-Abu Dhabi flights.
Etihad's Turkey Director General Fatos Kutay said on Monday that Etihad would conduct flights between Istanbul and Abu Dhabi five times a week as of November.
Kutay said that Istanbul and Abu Dhabi became attraction centers mutually in terms of commerce and culture, adding that first Istanbul-Abu Dhabi flight would begin on November 6.
The flights would be conducted every day except Tuesdays and Saturdays, added Kutay.
She noted that Ethiad had a code-sharing agreement with Turkish Airlines (THY).
Established in 2003, Etihad Airways is the flag carrier airline of the United Arab Emirates, based in capital Abu Dhabi.
As of August 2009, Etihad Airways serves 54 destinations and its cargo division Etihad Crystal Cargo serves 10 destinations in 38 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.
