Bobek centre opens new college

Almaty, September 01, 2009 (Khabar) - A new sixth form college has opened at the “Bobek” national centre. This project has already been referred to as a unique springboard for both moral and spiritual education. The new complex is located in a picturesque place at the foot of the Alatau Mountains. Its total area amounts to 17 hectares. More than half of this territory is occupied by a park area. There are educational buildings, a nursery school, a dormitory, a hotel, a sports hall, an observatory, a stadium and a greenhouse.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev, minister for education and science of Kazakhstan:
- The opening of this complex is the best present for the citizens of our country in respect of education and training. This is a unique springboard for the development of moral and spiritual education.

Akhmetzhan Yesimov, mayor of Almaty:
- There is an Eastern saying which goes: if you think in units of one-year, plant rice, if you think 10- years ahead, plant a tree and if you think about your whole life raise children.

According to the guest, it was a holiday and there should be presents like on every holiday. The ministry of education presented a computer to the class, the regional administration bought interactive boards and the main present – the key was given out by constructors. According to them, a special architectural style was created for each building. However, the most important thing is the complex itself as it represents an uninterrupted chain of education comprising a nursery school, a secondary school and a college.

Sara Nazarbayeva, president of “Bobek” fund:
- You will get to know yourselves and each other, learn to love yourselves and your friends and teachers. The Teachers will have to teach you these things.

The schoolchildren are already leaving the fist self-knowledge school which was founded under of the “Bobek” health centre. A great number of them are continuing their education on the “Bolashak” program. According to the school-leavers, their acquired knowledge is helping them adapt to the new environment a lot. The best pupils from the self-knowledge school have been transferred to the sixth form college today while children from the nursery school will start studying there next year. And children from orphanages in their turn will take the place of the latter.
