MNCF STILL AWAITING RESULT ON APPEAL
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National Cycling Federation is still waiting for a reply from the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) on its appeal to include a 1km time trial at next year's Asian Games.
MNCF deputy president Naim Mohammad said, however, indications were positive
as UCI acting president Pat McQuaid had expressed his sympathy over the matter
and would try his best to persuade GAGOC to consider the appeal by MNCF.
Naim told Bernama, GAGOC would most likely be deliberating the matter its
next meeting.
He did not foresee why the event should not be included in the cycling
events at Guangzhou.
