Ministry of Interior issues statement on the attack against the Assistant Minister of Interior

Riyadh, September 01, SPA -- The Ministry of Interior issued today a statement on the attack against Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin
Abdulaziz, the Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs.
The following is the full text of the statement:

Allah the Almighty says in the Holy Quran "On account of their
arrogance In the land and their Plotting of Evil. But the plotting of
Evil Will hem in only The authors thereof. Now Are they but looking
for The way the ancients Were dealt with? But No change wilt thou
find In Allah's way (of dealings): No turning off wilt thou Find in
Allah's way (of dealing).

An official source at the Ministry of Interior stated that the
perpetrator of the attack against the Assistant Minister of Interior
for Security Affairs, which took place on Thursday evening 06/09/1430
H., is one of the wanted persons whose names had previously been
announced. He is Abdullah bin Hassan bin Talea' Asiri, and has come
the region bordering the Republic of Yemen, taking advantage of the
continuing efforts and existing coordination with the officials in
Yemen to restore a Saudi woman and her children who previously left
the country illegally and without the knowledge of the children's
guardians. This wanted person claimed that he is conveying a message
to the Assistant Minister of Interior personally from the woman and
her children as well as a group of Saudis who are living in terrible
conditions and would like to return home after having realized the
truth and regretted their misguided actions. Now they are beseeching
the good offices of His Royal Highness to grant them amnesty against
any legal action.

Upon his arrival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he was enabled to
speak via telephone with the Assistant Minister of Interior. The
following are quotations from the telephone call:

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Peace be upon you brother Abdullah.

Suicide bomber: Yes, Yes.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: How are you?

Suicide bomber: Praise be to Allah. How are you?

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Fine. I wish you good health.

Suicide bomber: Same to you, Allah willing.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: How is your health?

Suicide bomber: Congratulations on Ramadan.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: May Allah bless you. I hope that every
thing is going well?

Suicide bomber: Thanks to Allah.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: How is your brother Ibrahim? I hope he is
well.

Suicide bomber: He is fine, thanks to Allah.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: I bring good news to you that your father
and mother are both in good health, thanks to Allah. They are doing
well and every thing is fine.

Suicide bomber: Thanks to Allah.

Suicide bomber: I pray to Allah to continue His blessings.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Amen, Amen.

Suicide bomber: I hope that Allah will facilitate the way.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: The way is facilitated as long as a pearson
fears Allah.

Suicide bomber: Allah willing.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Is there anything you want to tell me?

Suicide bomber: Actually, I want to see you.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: My brother, I am in Jeddah and your place
is a bit far.

Suicide bomber: I would like to meet with you to tell you the full
story. Once this takes place you shall know.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: The most important thing now is that I want
to ask you about one thing, and I want you to answer me to be
reassured.

Suicide bomber: Willingly?

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: How is the wife of Saeed and the children?
I hope they are well.

Suicide bomber: They are very well. Thanks to Allah.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: My brother, they have relatives and you
should take care of them. Frankly, they are more important than all
of you.

Suicide bomber: May Allah bless you.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Before everything, reassure me of their
health.

Suicide bomber: We are impressed by the plain dealings you showed
when treating us. Even the others are impressed by your treatment.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Why do you have doubts? You are our sons.

Suicide bomber: May Allah bless all of you.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: This is a duty. One should be careful; evil
people would like to exploit all of you. Now only you to fear Allah
Almighty and come home.

Suicide bomber: Of course, especially that this holy month of Ramadan
is a month of blessing.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: God willing.

Suicide bomber: Let us ask Allah to help us shun the evil as Ramadan
is a month of sanction.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Amen.

Suicide bomber: We are optimistic that Ramadan will constitute a step
forward.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: First: With God help, it will be the first
step, may God bless your family with your repatriation. Second: I'm
not deceiving you. As for that woman and her children, they would
come back safe since women have priority.

Suicide bomber: You are right, believe me.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Listen to me, I swear that if I was now
given the option to choose between all of you and that woman, I would
have her come back.

Suicide bomber: Right, particularly if you could see the situation of
his young daughter and Yousef. Let us ask God that the matter be
accomplished as best it would.
Prince Mohammed bin Naif: I hope they would be back to please their
family, and be with her father and mother. Now, all you have is the
spirited; tell your brothers who wish to return to do so before they
are exploited by the evil people. Assure them not to have any doubts.

Suicide bomber: Allah willing, we love you in the spirit of Allah,
and hope that matters will be accomplished and well facilitated.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Be reassured that things will be fine. The
most important to me is that your parents be delighted with seeing
you, after all they have done nothing to deserve losing you. Surely,
your father and mother pretend before people that they are patient
but you could realize how their heartfelt feelings are.

Suicide bomber: Did you speak to them?

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: I always ask after their well-being, and
this is not a favor to be thanked for.

Suicide bomber: I sure always wished to ring them up.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Better you call them, but take care that
they should not tell somebody that might harm them.

Suicide bomber: This is first, and second: I would like to speak to
them together with my brother Ibrahim so that they would not be
skeptical if I do it alone.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Your father might understand; as for your
mother, if you speak to her but your brother does not, she would
think something the matter.

Suicide bomber: I would like to meet with you to explain the whole
thing.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: You are welcome. If you came, I promise you
to sit together and exchange views. But most important is that the
group should not delay. I don't exactly know the situation there.

Suicide bomber: The group members said "Sheikh Saeed, hurry meet with
the Prince," and contact the other members; some of them are a little
uneasy.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Uneasy of what?

Suicide bomber: I don't know. Some of them are afraid a bit.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: They might have the right to be. But have
not you seen the case of Mohammed. He fine, and doing well and in his
own home.

Suicide bomber: We have been informed of that. Thanks to Allah, we
felt satisfied after we heard such news. They told me to speak
personally with the prince and ask him to meet the young members and
reassure them.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Now mind you, if you have committed a crime
against a certain person, this is a private crime, I tell you now, we
follow the Sharia law. Sometimes, we might have unintentionally made
a mistake. But, frankly speaking and as you know, nobody is perfect.
However, if a killer was indicted, I cannot promise amnesty unless
claimants pardon him.
Prince Mohammed bin Naif: But, thanks to Allah, what I know is that
nobody has a case of this kind against any member of your group.

Suicide bomber: If you possibly can dispatch a special plane or
anything so that I can speak to the youth from your office; for such
a thing would certainly have them reassured.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: As you wish. You are the one who can
evaluate the situation. If the situation remains the same until the
plane is sent to you, you are then welcome.

Suicide bomber: God bless you.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: If not possible, urge your brothers to
come.

Suicide bomber: Then, let me speak to Thamer and call you back.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: Talk, think, consult and be reassured of my
side. However, the most important thing is not to tell your mother
unless Ibrahim was available.

Suicide bomber: Welcome. Please pardon us as this should not have
happened.

Prince Mohammed bin Naif: I pardon you. You are part of us. We would
like to have you on our side and that nobody would take advantage of
you. This is what we want.

Accordingly, escorted by security men, he has been transported to
Jeddah Province. He was brought to a reception hall allocated for
well-wishers and visitors in the residence of the Assistant Minister
of Interior, after the Taraweeh prayers as is customary by the
leaders of this country in these blessed nights of holy Ramadan.

When he met with the prince, he confirmed his wish to surrender and
enable a group residing in Yemen to return after being given the
consent of the rulers of the country. He said they would like to hear
such reassurance personally from the prince through the phone. Then a
telephone call was made to one of the members of the group while the
Suicide Bomber is present in the same hall. During the conversation,
an explosion took place leading to the death of this wanted who was
torn into shreds. Thanks to Allah Almighty, nobody was hurt except
the perpetrator. The concerned security authorities opened an
investigation into the incident. However, the criminal laboratory and
a forensic report have reached conclusions that, for security
considerations, will not be announced at this time.

The Ministry of Interior confirms that what has been committed by the
suicide bomber and those who support him is an action of treachery
and treason, a behavior categorically denounced by the true Islamic
law and Arab values. It is so evil that it combines a breach of
trust, absence of human spirit, exploitation of women and children,
violation of the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan, perpetration
of capital crimes, and meeting benevolence with offense. Thanks to
Allah the Almighty, the evil people have achieved nothing of their
goals, except the failure in this world, exposition of their false
thought including their pretence to have adhered to the holy religion
of Islam which is fully innocent of their claims.

The Ministry of Interior would like to confirm that such odd acts
having to do with the values of this nation. This incident reveals
the reality of the deviant group and their followers, who sold
themselves to the enemies of this nation and its commitment to the
instructions of the holy Quran and to the Prophet's sayings and
deeds. This incident would not change the open-door policy our people
used to receiving from the rulers of this country. The Ministry calls
at the same time on whoever was classified as suspect or involved in
deviant activities, particularly those citizens residing outside the
country, to assess their situation, follow the righteous way, and
surrender to take advantage of the state-sponsored program of advice
and care.
