WARNING OF STRONG SOUTH-WESTERLY WINDS

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Strong south-westerly winds with speeds of
50-60km per hour and waves of 4.5 metre off Phuket, Palawan (north of Sabah),
Reef North, Condore and Layang-Layang will continue until Sept 7.

The Meteorological Department said in a statement today, the category two
warning which was upgraded from advisory on Aug 31, would make the waters
dangerous for fishing and ferry services.

It also said that the thunderstorm off Sabah (west coast and Kudat) and
Labuan was expected to continue until early Wednesday.

The condition would cause strong winds of up to 40km per hour with waves of
2.5 metres which would be dangerous to small boats.
