L.A. museum to screen works of S. Korean director Hong Sang-soo

SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) -- The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will look back on
the works of acclaimed South Korean director Hong Sang-soo later this month, the
Korea Film Council said Wednesday.
Eight of Hong's films, including "Like You Know It All (2008)," "The Day a Pig
Fell into the Well (1996)," "Woman on the Beach (2006)" and "Woman is the Future
of Man (2004)," will be screened during a retrospective program at the gallery
from Sept. 11-19, the council said in a press release.
The museum held a retrospective on veteran South Korean auteur Lee Chang-dong
last year.
Hong, who won two international honors with his debut "The Day a Pig Fell into
the Well," is considered one of the most widely recognized South Korean directors
in the global film society.
His ninth feature "Like You Know It All" was invited to a non-competition juror
section of this year's Cannes International Film Festival. Hong also served as a
jury member for the Locarno International Film Festival this year.
