Motor rally for Afghan war veterans
The first motor rally dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan has started in the capital city
The motor race will last 23 days and cover 17 centres of population in Kazakhstan. The project is being implemented as part of the state social order by the ministry of culture and information of Kazakhstan powered by the “Nur Otan” party and the municipal administration of the capital city.
Kairat Yelubayev, chairman of “Union of disabled people and Afghan war veterans” public organization in Astana:
- The objective of our campaign is to provide social and psychological support to Afghan war veterans in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the whole and military and patriotic upbringing of our young people in particular. Our motto is “Our strength lies in our unity”. So, today, we stand for the consolidation of the nation and the prosperity of Kazakhstan.
Friends, colleagues, as well as the near and dear of the motor run’s participants came to see them off. There are 15 members in the mobile team represented by participants of battles in Afghanistan, the best students of Astana, and representatives of the “Zhas Otan” youth party. They will carry out round table discussions, sports events, concerts and exhibitions in cities and villages on the motor race route. Meetings with fellow veterans are also being planned. Apart from that, the flying squad will collect and convey wishes from the regions to the “Nur Otan” party.
