New Laos-Vietnam Friendship Secondary school opened

(KPL) A completed Laos-Vietnam Friendship Secondary School, located at Phonphanao village, at Km-5, Saysettha district, Vientiane Capital, was officially opened on 2 September.
This school is a gift from the Vietnamese government to the Lao government for human resource development and improvement of the quality education of Laos.
The construction work commenced in May 2008 and completed recently, which had the Company of Economic Cooperation (COECCO) as contractor.
The school with 21 classrooms, is able to accommodate more than 840 students.
This school consists of a library, a laboratory, a computer room equipped with internet access.
The school is built on 5,780 square metres, which costs 48.7 billion VND, granted by the Vietnamese Government.
“All modern facilities in this school will help young students access information and improve their learning ability.. And we will try our best to develop this school and to become a qualified school in the country,” said Vientiane Mayor, Mr. Sombat Yialiheu. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam, said that each year the government of Vietnam would continue to select the best students from this school to enter universities of Vietnam in the future.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Somkot Mangnomek, and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad.
