PILGRIMS FUND BOARD PLANS TO SUBSIDISE H1N1 INJECTION FOR POTENTIAL HAJ PILGRIMS

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- Tabung Haji Malaysia (Pilgrims Fund Board)
plans to subsidise H1N1 injections to about 27,000 people going on a Haj
pilgrimage this year to help ease their burden.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom said
Tabung Haji had agreed to extend whatever assistance to the potential Haj
pilgrims to meet the requirement on the H1N1 injection by the Saudi Arabian
Health Ministry.

If this materialised, those going for the Haj pilgrimage this year could go
to government hospitals to get the injection two weeks before leaving for the
pilgrimage, he told reporters after attending a Ihya' Ramadan function here
Tuesday.

The first group of Haj pilgrims from Malaysia would leave for the pilgrimage
on Oct 20.
