TRANSPORTATION MINISTER INSPECTS RAJABASA BUS TERMINAL
Bandarlampung, Indonesia, Sept 12 (ANTARA) - Transportation Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal inspected the readiness of Lampung province's Rajabasa bus terminal to serve the post-fasting home-bound Idul Fitri travelers next week.
"We hope that all bus terminal officials would increase cooperation with police in an effort to create security for the travelers," the minister said here on Saturday.
The minister directly inspected the main terminal of Rajabasa which constitutes the biggest and main inter-city and inter-province bus station for Java and Sumatra in the province of Lampung.
On the sidelines of his visit to Rajabasa bus terminal, the minister was briefed by Lampung city police headquarters' chief Senior Commissioner Syauqi Ahmad who guaranteed a good security coordination to ensure security for travelers in Lampung areas.
The police chief said that Rajabasa terminal was the main focus of Lampung police in providing security services, besides other points considered prone to security disturbance.
He said that at least 829 police personnel would be stationed in the field to guard travelers.
Home-bound travelers are expected to start their exodus next week, as the fasting month will end next Sunday, September 21, marking the start of Idul Fitri holidays. ***
