HOUSE MEMBERS INSPECT TANJUNG KARANG TRAIN STATION

Bandarlampung, Indonesia, Sept 12 (ANTARA) - A group of legislators of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V for transportation affairs inspected on Saturday the Tanjungkarang train station in Lampung to see its preparations in the face of Idul Fitri travelers next week.

Led by Riswan Tony, the legislators directly inspected the facilities and infrastructure of the train station as they arrived in the location.

They also took a look at several train wagons, security posts and health centers which were being prepared to serve home-bound travelers next week.

"We find that the readiness of the train station in serving passengers is already good enough," Riwan said.

In order to anticipation in influx of passengers, state-owned train company PT KA would also increase the number of its wagons. "At least two additional regular trains are prepared this year," he said.

PT KA Sokesman for Tanjungkarang Zakaria said that his company had prepared seven additional wagons to anticipate Idul Fitri travelers' exodus next week.

Home-bound travelers are expected to start their exodus next week, as the fasting month will end next Sunday, September 21, marking the start of Idul Fitri holidays.***
