S. Korea reports sixth death from H1N1 flu

(ATTN: RECASTS lead; ADDS more details from para 2)
SEOUL, Sept. 13 (Yonhap) -- A 67-year-old South Korean man infected with type-A
(H1N1) influenza has died, bringing the nation's total flu death toll to six
since the first fatality was reported in mid-August, health officials said
Sunday.
"The man died from complications, including pneumonia and blood poisoning, caused
by the new flu Sunday afternoon," said an official at the Ministry of Health,
Welfare and Family Affairs.
The man, who lived in the Seoul metropolitan area, had long been suffered from
chronic liver disease, the ministry said.
He had neither travelled abroad recently, nor contacted people who were infected
with the new flu, the official added.
As of Sept. 10, a total of 7,577 cases of the flu infections were reported across
the nation, the ministry said.
Among the flu cases, two -- a female in her 40s and a male in his 60s-- were
reported to be in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the government plans to inoculate some 13.4 million people, or 27
percent of the nation's population, including children vulnerable to the flu, by
next February.
