YEMEN, OCHA DISCUSS WAYS OF DELIVERING HUMANITARIAN AID
SANA'A, Sep. 13 (Saba) - Yemen, UN Office for the Coordination of
Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and United Nations Development Program
(UNDP) discuss on Sunday situation's development in Saada province
as well as ways of delivering the humanitarian assistance for the
displaced people.
During the meeting between Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi with
the director of OCHA Rashid Khalikov and the UN Resident Coordinator
in Yemen Pratibha Mehta, the Minister expressed the government's
appreciation on for the OCHA for providing assistance for Saada
displaced people affected by the rebellion sedition.
The Minister also affirmed the country's willingness to enhance the
presence of these humanitarian organizations and to facilitate their
tasks in opening safety roads to transport the humanitarian aid for
these people.
Al-Qirbi pointed out to the government's cease-fire initiative which
didn't get any response from the rebellion side who continued their
destructive actions the thing that impeded the assistance delivering.
For his part, the UN official praised the country's effective
cooperation that UN Office in Yemen witnessed.
The official also affirmed keenness of OCHA in cooperation with
Yemen to prop up the efforts of the international humanitarian
relief for the displaced people through an urgent international
appeal to donor countries for supporting these organizations'
efforts.
