EXIM BANK HELPING MALAYSIAN PROFESSIONALS VENTURE ABROAD

DUBAI, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- Exim Bank-Malaysia has begun financing Malaysian professionals such as lawyers venturing abroad, said its managing director and chief executive officer Mohd Fauzi Rahmat.

"We're also open to those offering other services like architects and
consultants. We can provide the working capital for them to do work outside
Malaysia," he said here recently.

Mohd Fauzi said Exim Bank was doing it as normally banks were "a bit
reluctant to provide this kind of service".

"Services now make up a big chunk of the Malaysian economy. There are not
that many financiers willing to look at this sector. So we're looking at it
now," he said.

Mohd Fauzi said Malaysia had come to a stage where its professionals --
engineers, consultants, architects, quantity surveyors and so on -- with years
of experience under their belt were ready to render their services overseas.
