Yemeni jetliner crash investigators to arrive home soon

SANA'A, Sep. 15 (Saba) - Yemen is soon to know about the outcomes of investigations into the crash of a Yemenia jetliner into the Indian Ocean on June 30.

The Yemeni investigators are about to arrive later today in Sana'a coming from
Paris where a French, Yemeni and Comorian team has been investigating the crash and
the contents
of the black boxes found last month off the Islands of Comoros.
In the meantime, the Supreme Committee on Monitoring Civil Aviation Accidents said
that 61 bodies and other parts of debris from the crash have been recovered.
A Yemenia Airliner crashed into the Indian Ocean on June 30 with 153 passengers
onboard.
Only one French teenager survived the disaster.
In late August, search teams for the black boxes retrieved the two flight data
recorders. They were recovered by a US ship carrying a special underwater robot and
handed
to the investigation team in Paris.
Searchers then said they would continue to search for wreckage and look for more
bodies for two more weeks.
The Yemenia Airways paid compensations for the angry families of the victims, about
€ 20.000 for each.
